Arabic Teachers Primary and Secondary

Required for September 2017, qualified teachers of Arabic

     Vacancy One:   Primary Section: Grades 1 to 6

     Vacancy Two:   Secondary Section: Grades 7 to 12

The successful candidate will be a well-qualified Teacher of Arabic and have imagination, flexibility and enthusiasm and will form part of a team of professional and motivated teachers. The candidates will have a range of teaching experience, across either the Primary (Grades 1 to 6) or Secondary (Grades 7 to 12) age range.

The Arabic Department’s work is crucial to the success of all students, as Arabic is a key subject for our students, all of whom are UAE Nationals.  Members of the department work very closely as a team, holding regular planning and evaluation meetings. They also work closely with support staff and teachers from other departments to ensure that Arabic literacy needs across the whole school are met.

Required Criteria

  • Qualified teacher status or equivalent
  • Successful experience in teaching Arabic

  • Proven record as a team player
  • Strong commitment to professional self-development
  • Flexibility to deal with both very able pupils and those who experience difficulties in Arabic
  • Awareness of current educational developments in Arabic education
  • Ability to maintain good relationships with pupils, parents and staff
  • Outstanding references
  • Ability to offer extra-curricular activities
  • As English is the administrative language of the school, then a good understanding of spoken English is desirable

Qualified Teacher on a full expatriate or local contract

Salary and conditions of service: September 2017

Terms of contract:

This will be initially run until 31st August 2018 and will then be renewed annually, subject to mutual agreement.


The school's salary structure is based on a ten point scale. The exact salary will depend upon previous experience but will be in the range of Dirhams 9,000 to 12,000 per month. A teacher with ten years’ experience will start at the top of the pay scale. The salary is tax free and paid at the end of each month. There is an initial terminal gratuity of between AED 7,665 and 10,112 for each year of employment. This amount increases throughout your employment at Rashid School for Boys, up to a maximum of AED 20,224, for each additional year of service.

The following allowances may be paid for staff employed on an Overseas Contract only. Single teachers and married men are usually employed on overseas contracts that include salary, accommodation, flights, children’s school fees allowance and medical insurance. However, married women whose husbands are resident in the UAE are usually employed on local contracts, which are salary only. There are no differences between these salaries.

Annual allowance to your country of origin.


An annual accommodation allowance of AED 74,870/- (single member of staff),

AED 88,481/- (married) and AED 108,990/- (married with children) is provided.

A water and electricity allowance of AED 9,000/- per year (single), AED 13,000/- (married) and AED 18,000/- (married with children) will be provided.

Health care:

Medical cover of 80% is provided through Almadallah Health Care

School fees:

School fees may be paid up to a maximum of AED 30,000 per year, per family.
