Core Leadership Team of RSB

Kifaya Khan, Principal

Kifaya hails from London and is a graduate in Computer Engineering from Queen Mary’s College. After qualifying as an ICT teacher, he taught in schools in the North West of England. Later he trained as an Ofsted Associate Inspector as well as completed the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH) from the Institute of Education, University College London. 

Kifaya has a proven track record of leading schools to high achievement. He has worked on school improvement projects in England, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This is his third headship, having led two similar high profile bilingual schools in Saudi Arabia. In his spare time, Kifaya enjoys exploring his book collection, and following the mighty Liverpool FC. 

Kifaya has overall responsibility for school improvement at RSB. He is committed to ensuring a new and exciting chapter in the history of the school.

Mark Shahparaki, Head of Secondary

Mark has been a member of the school since 1991 and became Deputy Head in 1997.  Mark began his career as a teacher of Physics and has also been a Head of Science.  His many roles at RSB include leading curriculum development, student assessment and overseeing personal and social education within the Secondary Section.

Michelle France, Co Head of Primary, Foundation Stage to Year 2

Michelle was a primary class teacher in Australia for 12 years before joining Rashid School in 1998. She was FS/KS1 Coordinator for 9 years before becoming Co Head of Primary in January 2014. She enjoys working with Alison to ensure the Primary section remains dynamic and provides the students, staff and parents with a positive educational experience.

Alison Dawson, Co Head of Primary, Year 3 to Year 6 

Alison began her teaching career as a class teacher and PE Coordinator in England in 1996. She moved to Dubai to join Latifa School for Girls in 2001 where she gained valuable experience as Literacy and ICT Coordinator. Alison joined the Rashid team in 2005 as KS2 Coordinator and became Co Head of Primary in January 2014. She enjoys working closely with Michelle to ensure RSB Primary is progressive and provides support, encouragement and opportunities for students to reach their potential.
