Rashid School has a small but thriving French Department. Most boys in years 7-9 study French as their third language.

In each year group there are two classes - French (2-3 lessons per week) and French Certificate (1 lesson per week). Those with an aptitude for language learning can opt to study French in years 10 and 11. Boys prepare for the AQA exam board, Syllabus A.

Boys have plenty of opportunity to practise their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. It is not unusual to hear boys and staff (not from the French Department) greet each other in French in the morning in the corridors of Rashid School!
